I smoke for 10 years now. And of course I tend to laugh in a way to the money arguments etc. But that’s besides the point now. I asked myself a question: “How much time did I spend smoking?”. Well ten years of smoking - a pack a day - means 73 000 cigarettes. It means:

73 000x I’ve reached for a box of cigarettes,
73 000x I’ve taken out a cigarette,
73 000x I’ve lit a cigarette.

It means tha on average I’ve inhaled my dose of drug 730 000 times. I counted that on average it takes me 4minutes and 30 seconds to: take a cigarette out of the box, put it in my mouth, light it up, inhale it, put it out. It means that every day I spend a full hour and a half smoking! Which means that every year I spend on average 547 hours and 30 minutes smoking (which is 34,21875 of active days counting one active day as 16 hours). That would mean that I wasted 342 active days of my life by smoking?! I wasted nearly a YEAR by smoking??

Oh and it probably means my lungs are on a “healthy” path to look like the right side of the picture below. Which kind of sucks.

Well that makes me wonder if it isn’t time to cure myself from the illness with a diagnose numbered F 17?
Did you ask yourself this question, did you count your active time with a cigarette?
